Charles Jackson

Charles Jackson was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas. In 2018, Charles graduated from F.L. Schlagle High School, where he was one of only a few in his class to obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant license prior to graduation. After receiving his CNA, Charles enrolled at Metropolitan Community College to pursue his nursing degree. He’s currently working at Children’s Mercy Hospital as a CNA and at Sunrise Senior Living as a care manager.

Albert Lee Ingram, III

Albert moved from Los Angeles, California, to Kansas City, where he subsequently obtained a psychology degree from Avila University. He has been working in the mental health field since 2008 and is currently a behavioral health technician.

Says Albert: "When individuals experience trauma or severe life stress, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic or stressful experience. I help individuals find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their own personal relationship, so that they can see themselves as peaceful, whole, complete and valued."

Anthony James

Anthony James is a senior at Ruskin High School. He has known all his life that he wanted to help people, and nursing gives him the opportunity to pursue that passion. Upon graduating, Anthony plans to pursue a Certified Nursing Assistant license on his way to becoming a nurse. Outside of school, Anthony loves animals of all kinds.

Jabari Talib

Jabari Talib presently attends both Raytown High School and Herndon Career Center’s nursing program. He’s taking classes in first aid, anatomy, physiology, and nursing, and when he graduates, Jabari will be trained and ready to pursue his CNA license.


Eric Steward

Eric is a psychiatric technician at St. Luke's Health System. After graduating from Westport High School, in 2004, he earned college credits but not a degree. He worked as a behavioral health tech at St. Luke's Crittenton Children's Center for five years and has training in trauma and autism spectrum disorder.

"In order to understand a person, you have to put yourself in their shoes," Eric says. "I believe everyone deserves to receive nothing but the best care, no matter their gender, race, or spirituality beliefs." Eric lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with his two daughters and his wife of ten years.

Quincy Cole

Quincy Cole was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, along with 8 sisters and 2 brothers. He graduated from Ruskin High School in May 2018 and obtained his Certified Nursing Assistant license from Metropolitan Community College the same year. Outside of school, Quincy enjoys skating, bowling, bike-riding, and spending time with family and friends. He loves to travel and explore new places.

Sherman Campbell

Sherman is currently attending Johnson County Community College to reach his goal of becoming an RN within St. Luke's Health System. He also works as a mental health technician at Crittenton Children's Center, a division of St. Luke's.

Sherman was named "Employee of the Year" at Crittenton in 2012 for his work with child trauma victims. He is also a certified advanced Mandt trainer. Sherman is married with two children—an 18-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. His wife, Christine, is a 4th grade teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District. Sherman enjoys spending time with his family, barbecuing, and painting.
